In South Africa, 70% of the white population has completed high school vs. 20% of the black population.

In South Africa, where only 5% of students complete 12th grade by age 18, the education system is in need of great reform. The country spends more money than most of its peers on education, yet their outcomes are worse, in large part due to the quality of the education provided and high dropout rates in secondary school.

In order to move our work and vision in South Africa forward, 1 World aims to:

  • Continue to support our partnership with Kgololo Academy and their growth towards becoming a transformational school and model of excellence in South Africa
  • Develop a 5 year strategic growth plan in cooperation with the school leader and Board of Directors
  • 1 World will continue to provide coaching to the Kgololo Academy school leader, Waahida Tolbert-Mbatha
